SKIT MBA dept. is working towards producing socially responsible entrepreneurs/ managers

"Social responsibility is an ethical or ideological theory that an entity whether it is a government, corporation, organization or individual has a responsibility to society." (source: Wikipedia)
Keeping the above statement in mind, SKIT is trying to make its students aware of their surroundings and environment along with the issues concerning them. To begin with we are trying to create awareness by showing documentaries in the classrooms, such as- The Inconvenient Truth- a Global warning, which is a documentary based on global warming. Along with the above mentioned we're also taking them on educational tours-most recent one was on 02/12/07 an educational tour to the national park of Ranthambhore, where our students interacted with Mr Fateh Singh Rathore who is the vice chairman and founder of Tiger Watch (its an NGO established to save tigers from poachers in Ranthambhore) and Mr Dharmender Khandal who is one of the country's few spider experts, a botanist and field researcher who works with tigers, and more recently an ABN-AMRO wild lifer of the year award winner for 2006. If not something great, then still these could be considered as small steps towards an effort to make a BIG difference.

Our plan is to first create the awareness, because as we say common sense is not so common, its awareness of surroundings and environmental issues which is also not so common. Upon creating awareness, I believe that as god has made us to think creatively and analytically, with these abilities we ourselves would be able to find our own little ways to keep our surroundings clean, healthy and livable.
It is doing the right thing that moves us forward.
